Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and motivated business intern to join our team for a minimum of 3 months from May 2024. This internship provides a chance to work across a mixture of strategic and operational roles including marketing and external communications, strategic assessment of pharmaceutical assets for in-licensing, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and External Communications: Work with our senior communications and PR expert to enhance brand visibility for Ignota Labs:

• Develop and execute marketing activities to enhance brand visibility and engagement, including blog posts, LinkedIn posts and other social media activity

• Support the update of the Ignota Labs website, working on core messaging for different audiences

Strategic Assessment of Pharmaceutical Assets: Work directly with the CEO and CSO (Chief Scientific Officer) to assess a range of potential drug targets to in-licence.

• Conduct detailed analysis of Phase 1 clinical trial failures, understanding their potential for Ignota Labs

• Work with the AI team to understand how to incorporate unique insights into your analysis

• Help set out a repeatable process for future analysis of opportunities

• Research and search for ways to access preclinical failures, providing insights that will help guide our asset recovery strategies

Investor Relations: Work directly with the CEO to support fundraising

• Assist in managing external outreach to potential and existing investors as part of our seed fundraising efforts

• Prepare materials and presentations for investor meetings, ensuring clear communication of Ignota Labs’ core messages

What We Are Looking For

• Proactive,  organised, and outcome-driven person, willing to challenge others and to find ways of getting stuff done in a better way

• Agile mindset, responsive to the dynamic needs of working in a startup

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working in complex, technical domains and matching content with a range of audiences

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business or Science related degrees  

• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media

• Demonstrated interest in biotechnology, pharma, or a related industry

We are based at the Bradfield Centre, Cambridge Science Park in Cambridge, UK. The location has an on-site gym and cafe restaurant, as well as free coffee facilities, weekly food trucks and social events. For this role, we would consider hybrid and fully office-based candidates. To support hybrid work we employ a variety of tools such as GatherTown, Slack and Notion, and we encourage high levels of collaboration and communication.
